Wolfram Plym is a poet and novelist (one cursed to think about theology).
This blog stems from my piece “Isaac Brock, the Unreliable Narrator: Holy Fury in Modest Mouse’s ‘Cowboy Dan,’” published in Pop Culture Theology. With “Holy Fury” I realized – for better or worse – that I had struck groundwater, and there was a whole lot more I wanted to write there. Enough for my own blog.
Whatever it says about me, songs like “Cowboy Dan” have shaped me – and mattered to me – more than any church music in my life.
And so, heretic Psalms is an outlet to discuss two of my loves, music and theology, and aims for their perfect union (full explanation in the intro post).
Alternatively, and this surprises even me –
This blog is an act of reconstruction, specifically towards Christian Universalism. Whether it succeeds, well, is just part of the unfolding drama.

I wanna climb over the wall cause I’m not on the list”

und ich kreise jahrtausendelang”
